Very long, very tiring trip from KL, finally made it to my hotel in Shinjuku for the next two days. How quickly can I achieve ramen?

Malaysian food

Malaysian food is as diverse as it's population, and reflects the same influences -- a mix of Malaysian, Thai, Indian, Chinese, and I don't know what else.  It's one of the only places I've been where I didn't recognize anything on the menu.  All very good!

Glacier National Park

Posting pictures from our trip to Glacier NP has been sitting on my to-do list since, um, Labor Day weekend.  So here are some, so I can cross it off and move onto something else.

 

Sucia Island Kayak Trip

As part of the weekend in Orcas, we took a ride out to Sucia Island for some kayaking.

Middle Fork

Last weekend's hiking was dragging a bunch of people up the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River trail.  Apparently a former dumping ground and meth lab site, the trail has been re-built and is very nice.  6 mile R/T, but not much elevation change.

Elwah

Some late pictures from Mako's and my camping trip to Olympic National Park a couple of weeks ago.  We camped at Elwah, which was great, much better than Heart o'the Hills where we camped last year.  The only downside, the underwhelming Cascase Rock trail we hiked (3 miles uphill for almost no view).

So the best view we saw was actually from the car window...could have saved a lot of effort-

Iron Goat Trail

The Iron Goat Trail in the Mt Baker-Snoqualmie Nat'l Forest replaces the an old rail grade over Stephens Pass (~4500') with a new trail, retaining some of the old elements from the rail line (including the nice, gentle grade).  Even flat, tiring at 7miles.
